The animation frames are not limited to the order on the sheet, and can be rearranged to better suit the user. In RPG Maker XP, these sheets use 192x192 pixel frames, limited horizontally to 960 pixels and unlimited vertically. These resources are 640x480 pixel sheets in RPG Maker 2000 and RPG Maker 2003, with each frame of an animation 96x96 pixels in size. These resources are used to display a skill or effect in battles. These resources are 320x160 pixels in RPG Maker 2000, 320x240 pixels in RPG Maker 2003 and 640x320 pixels in RPG Maker XP. These resources are panoramic images, used as a backdrop for battles. Many people have been able to use the graphics proficiently and have created notable games using the RTP resources. These assets are freely available to use in any of your RPG Maker projects. I can't tell how limited the trial is, but I definitely hope to mess around with it some more. The abbreviation RTP is short for Run Time Package. I tried to get a battle set up, but I couldn't figure it out. There is a bunch of pre-made content (sprites, tiles, etc.). Map making was really easy, and the character creator looks like its pretty simple (though, you can't actually create a character in the trial). So, I guess I'd say try that "Lite" version, and see if its something you'd be willing to pay that hefty price for. It wasn't nearly as featured as this looks though. The means of "coding" it were very simple as well. The free version lets you make RPGs, and has a good deal of pre-made art assets for characters and environments. I've actually delved into RPG making myself, though I used this program called Engine001. I don't have it, but it looks like its pretty fully featured.

It seems there is a "Lite" version on the Steam Store, so maybe you could try that? I'm actually pretty tempted to download the trial myself, as this looks pretty good. Only thing that prevents me from getting this is 60€ price. This may be the next best thing for those people who love classic type RPG games. I'm really interested in this, something that lets me create my own RPG.
