Why is it that most jazz musicians today don't think of KCMO as a haven of jazz? Or know of the Blue Room? Sure Charlie Parker went on record saying that despite everything that wasn't his true home, but with Basie and all of the other stellar musicians who came thru or got famous because of that town it should have as much talk and historic significance as any other jazz town.
